Coral Tree Plaza Weekly Update

Happy Friday Everyone.

Hello Coral Tree Plaza Community.

Canyon Abatement and Tree Stump Grind:

The canyon on the South side of the property is truly something to enjoy and adds dimension to the property. Unfortunately, it can also be a fire hazard for the association. So every year our landscapers are coming out to perform canyon abatement around the perimeter of the property. The landscaping crew will be here on Monday, August 22nd to perform the abatement. They will begin down by the dog run and make their way over to the area by the pool and 6th avenue. Their job is to cut down dead branches and grass, creating a 10-foot perimeter around the property. In the event of fire down in the canyon, barring high winds, a 10-foot perimeter stops the fire from spreading straight up to the building. Without the dead plants in the area right around the property, the fire does not have a place to burn and this can protect the association or at the very minimum create more time for the fire department to respond and work on putting out the fire.

On Monday Pacific Green Landscaping will also be grinding down the stump out front of the West building. So please plan accordingly for loud noises down in the canyon and also directly out front of the building.

Landscaping on Promenade:

Some homeowners have made note that the plants on the promenade are not looking as healthy or as well watered as they normally are. Some of you may remember that earlier this year the decision was made by the Board that the regular watering of the plants on the promenade is restricted. The routine watering that was previously being done, ended up saturating the concrete of the promenade and causing further deterioration of the concrete down in the parking garage. Even though the amount of water being used for the plants was not going to immediately damage the parking garage, it was agreed by all that it’s better to reduce further damage than continue knowingly damaging the parking garage when that is going to need to be redone anyway.

On another note, the association is going to be resurfacing the promenade. In that process, all of the plant life on the promenade must be removed so that it can be recoated and waterproofed all over, inside of the planters, and out on the walkway. After consulting with multiple landscaping companies, we learned that the plantlife really will not be able to sustain that much time out of the planters, so new plants and landscaping has to be put back into the planters after the promenade resurfacing is done. In the interim, the landscapers have agreed to water the planters on the promenade by hand and do their best to keep the area looking attractive for the residents and prospective buyers of units.

Amenity Usage:

It has been great to see the pool, tennis court, and clubhouse being used so much this summer. These amenities are here for the owners and are part of what dues pay for. During the pandemic so much of the onsite activity slowed or completely stopped, seeing the use this summer is a great turnaround. All of that being said, if you are stopping by the clubhouse to play ping pong or pool, please remember to pick up afterward. On Monday morning this week, the onsite staff came into a clubhouse with pool cues misplaced, multiple open beer cans in the clubhouse kitchen, and ping pong paddles scattered. This may not seem like too much, but when this happens multiple times per week or every day when someone starts a game of pool in the clubhouse and then abandons halfway through- Maria, Victor, and I are left picking up after. So please be considerate for the next group of residents who are going to use any of the onsite amenities. And thank you in advance from the onsite team.
