Coral Tree Plaza Weekly Update
Happy Friday Everyone.
Organic Waste Materials
Starting on January 1, 2022, the state of California mandated that all businesses, multi-family properties, and single-family residences begin collecting organic waste materials. This means that instead of throwing away leftover food waste into the trash, we are required to collect it separately and throw it away into a separate bin. Coral Tree Plaza has not yet begun this process. We are working with Global Disposal our waste management company to get this lined up and begun. So in preparation for this new system, I just wanted to educate the community about what exactly organic waste materials are and what they are not. So that when the time comes for the association to begin this process, everyone is up to speed and ready to hit the ground running.
Here is what IS organic waste materials:
-all food scraps
-cooked meat, dairy, bread, fruits, vegetables, peels, pits, cobs, coffee grounds
-food-soiled paper
-paper towels, napkins
-commercial green waste
-yard waste, small tree limbs, brush, plant materials, grass
Here are examples of what is NOT organic waste materials:
-oil and grease
-plastic containers, bags, film & gloves
-raw meat
-cans and glass
-packaging and cardboard
-paper and Biodegradable plates, cups, and utensils
Pet of the Month
February is a romantic month. It’s short and sweet, it can be filled with candy and love. It can also be filled with Valentines. CTP’s Valentine this month is Valentino or also just Tino. This little pup comes to us from the East building and can be seen enjoying long walks through Balboa park with his owners. He is an excitable bundle of joy and if you get the chance, feel free to say hello next time you see him around the property. Please see the attached photo of Valentino. Photos will also be placed in the lobbies of both buildings.
Carpet Cleaning
Next week starting on Monday the 7th, Carpet Cleaning Kings will be onsite to deep clean the hallways of both buildings, the elevator landings in the parking garage, and the clubhouse flooring. Jesse and his crew will be cleaning both the carpeted hallways and the tiled hallways. He will start in the East building on the upper-level floors and make his way down to the first floor, repeating this same process in the West building and finishing in the clubhouse.
Trash Chute Cleaning
Pro-Tec Janitorial Services will be out starting Tuesday, February 22nd at 9:00 am. They will be deep cleaning the trash chutes by scrubbing, scraping, and power washing the inside of the trash chute. They will also be deep cleaning the dumpster room at the bottom of the trash chute.
Please note that when ProTec was last onsite to complete this work, they taped off the trash chute doors on each floor above where they were working. Yet each day, a resident removed the tape and threw trash down the chute landing on the workers below. If the door is taped off if there is a sign saying not to throw down trash. Under no circumstance should trash be thrown down the chute. Pro-Tec will put up the tape and signs and take them down each morning/evening. You will be able to use the trash chute in the evening after the crew has left.
Please be courteous and conscious of these crews who are doing a service to the community and we can respect their service by following the instructions regarding the trash chute.
