Coral Tree Plaza Weekly Update

Happy Friday Coral Tree Plaza

Workin’ Hours:

This week if you lived in the East building you did not need an alarm clock to wake up in the mornings. Because someone decided to wake up the building by beginning construction in their unit at 8:30 am. As much as I am sure that the East building residents appreciated the extra push out of bed. Please do not allow any contractors into your unit before 9:00 am. Everyone in the community has a right to a peaceful cup of coffee and/or tea at 8:30 am, free of disturbances like sawing, grinding, drilling, hammering, and more.

Extra Janitorial:

During the most recent Board meeting, the directors reviewed a proposal from PMS janitorial for an additional eight hours of janitorial labor per week. Upon review, the Board voted to approve the increase in hours for janitorial. While everyone appreciates all of the incredibly hard work that Maria puts in, Coral Tree Plaza is the largest HOA facility in downtown San Diego. So let that sink in for a minute. Maria can work as hard as possible and still not get to every inch of the property. So starting later this month, on Fridays, there will be a second janitorial porter. They will focus entirely on the common are facilities such as the clubhouse, pool, tennis courts, gym, and promenade. Of course, this scope of work may be changed over time depending on the needs of the association, but for now, the intent is to have all the common area amenities cleaned before the weekend.

Call for Candidates (I am reposting this because we still need candidates and I thought this was a funny update last week):

You know sometimes I think that it would be pretty cool to live at Coral Tree Plaza. But then I remember that I am afraid of heights and so I would only really live in like, 6 possible units here. But if YOU think it’s cool to live here, perhaps consider running for the Board of Directors. The Call for Candidates went out on Monday this week. If you are interested in the association’s finances, making decisions for your neighbors and the community as a whole, and enjoy working with others, please consider submitting a candidate form. If you have questions about the process or what it’s like to be on the Board, please feel free to reach out to me. And either I can answer your questions directly or I can put you in touch with an existing Board member. Please remember that there are three seats up for election, incumbents Robin Landeck and Richard Spero plan on running again.

Use It If Ya Got It:

Some of the new residents to the buildings have begun taking full advantage of what Coral Tree Plaza has to offer. I would encourage long-time owners and newcomers to do the same. This past week, a newer resident of the community reserved the clubhouse to watch the first football game of the year. To reserve the clubhouse all that is needed is a completed form and a deposit check for damages. These small gatherings create a sense of community and are part of what makes Coral Tree Plaza unique. So swing by on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for Yoga Club at 9:30 am, or pop by for Bridge Tuesday afternoons. If you don’t see something you like, consider starting a club, the space is here for all to come and use. Contrary to what you think, it’s not just for me to sit around and play ping pong all day.

I kept it short and sweet for everyone this week. Stay safe this weekend and as Momma Boelts would always tell me when I left the house.

 Make good decisions!
