Coral Tree Plaza Weekly Update
Happy Friday Coral Tree Plaza
Board Meeting Next Week:
While we were originally scheduled to meet this week, the Board was able to graciously reschedule for my sake so we could meet next week (due to a personal conflict). The Board is going to be meeting next week on Wednesday, open session will begin at 5:30 pm. The Board is going to meet virtually via Zoom. Some of you may be wondering why we are meeting via Zoom. Well after some careful consideration the decision was made to meet virtually for a few reasons. The primary reason is everyone’s safety. Another influencing factor is that when wearing a mask, it is exceptionally difficult to hear someone who is speaking into a microphone. Rather than have to repeat half the meeting because folks can’t hear, it was decided that a Zoom meeting was best. Please see the below information for the Zoom meeting next week.

Safe Driving in Garage:
My office is situated just adjacent to the entrance ramp into the garage. And I would say approximately 2-5 times a day I hear squealing and near misses in the garage when someone is driving in and another person is driving out. If you are new to the community, please pay attention to the arrows on the floor of the parking garage, they indicate which side to drive on, if you are preparing to exit the garage, check to make sure no vehicles are driving in. Incoming vehicles have the right of way. Yes, this does mean you should back your vehicle away from the gate, and no, it will not delay your time to a destination as much as you first thought. So play it safe and be cautious when driving into or out of the garage.
Don’t Forget to Vote!:
Ace Inspectors of Election have been receiving your ballots (thank you for sending them!). We are meeting next week on Thursday via Zoom to count the ballots. Attendance at this meeting is not required. If you are interested in attending this meeting, please see the Zoom information below. If you have not yet turned in your ballot, please do so! Everyone’s vote counts and helps the association further its cause, along with saving money. Thank you again to all who have voted, and please remind your neighbors to turn in their ballot if they have not done so yet.

Mask Request:
Many of you have already seen the email that went out yesterday to the community. I wanted to take the chance to remind everyone that the Covid Response Committee is strongly suggesting that everyone at the property wear masks when indoors. This suggestion extends to any guests or vendors onsite as well. Maria, Victor, and I will be wearing masks indoors. For anyone wishing to visit my office, please wear a mask, the office is a small space and does not have proper ventilation. I recently heard someone compare wearing a mask to wearing a seatbelt. If you are in a car with airbags, you are surely going to have some protection in a crash. But a seatbelt along with airbags is a much safer choice because you are protected on multiple fronts. So please consider wearing a mask even if you are fully vaccinated.
To Run or Not to Run:
I am as surprised as anyone that we are already in August. I could not tell you where the year has gone. What I will say is that the association has fared through the pandemic beautifully and we are a lucky lot here at Coral Tree Plaza. If you have a passion for where you live and take a great interest in the politics of HOA management, please consider running for the Board of Directors. A call for candidates will be coming out next week to the association. If you are interested in running for the Board of Directors, please consider filling out the call for candidates form and submitting it back to me. The election will be on October 27th. There are three seats up for reelection to the Board, two of the three existing board members will be running for reelection. If you have questions about what it’s like to be on the Board or would like further information. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I would be happy to provide any insight needed.
