Coral Tree Plaza Weekly Update

Happy Friday Coral Tree Plaza

Neighborhood Reminder: No Food Items In Lobby

The other week I requested that owners who wished to leave items in the mailroom lobby not leave perishable items. While I completely understand the desire to share and not waste food that is not going to last, it has continued to be an issue. This past week Maria had to clean up food items left out in the mailroom lobby a few different times. Given this, I would ask that owners and residents please not leave any consumables on the small table in each mailroom lobby. For those wishing to not see their food go to waste, I would encourage you to reach out to your neighbors on the hall and offer up any unused food you would like to share.

Deliveries in the Lobby:

A few residents this week reported delivery drivers wandering the halls trying to find units to drop off their packages. For future deliveries, please direct your driver to drop items off in the lobby. Outside delivery drivers coming onto the property who are wandering the halls could pose a security threat, it also heightens COVID risks at the association. The Board and I have been exploring possibilities of a parcel locker or a place for deliveries to be placed. In the meantime, please do not ask delivery drivers to bring boxes straight to your door.

Fire Alarms:

This morning at approximately 7:00 am the fire alarms in the West building began going off. The alarms were triggered because of smoke coming from a unit. Shortly after the alarms started, the fire department came onsite. They disabled the alarms and restarted the elevators. There are a few important notes with regards to the events of this morning.

      Emergencies vs. Tests:

– If the association is ever testing the fire alarms in units, you will be notified ahead of time. Either an Action employee or I will notify the community of the fire alarm testing.

– If you have not received an email notifying you of the fire alarm testing, the alarms are sounding for a reason. Please exercise caution and evacuate the building.

– I will email out to the association if there is a false alarm in the building because this is the fastest way to communicate with the entire property.

Common Area Smoke Detectors:

– The smoke detectors are located in the hallway on each floor, they are right next to the elevators.

– The smoke detectors are highly sensitive, so if you are creating a lot of smoke from cooking, please open your windows and ventilate your unit this way. Opening the door to your unit, and using a fan to blow out into the hallway will trigger the smoke detector even if there is no fire or immediate threat.

Emergency Assistance List:

– Inside of the fire escapes and next to the fire panels, I have listed the names, units, and numbers of residents who may need assistance in the event of a fire or emergency. The list is created so that the firefighters know what units will need immediate service evacuating the building.

– If you believe you need to be on this list, please reach out to me via email and I will either confirm that you are on this list or add you to the list per your request.

Thank you all for another successful week. Stay safe and get vaccinated when it’s your turn!
