Coral Tree Plaza Weekly Update
Happy Friday Coral Tree Plaza
Hello Coral Tree Plaza Residents!
Neighborhood Reminder: Guests at the Association
San Diego has continued to decrease the spread of COVID as best it can. Coral Tree Plaza has worked exceptionally hard to keep the community safe, thank you all for your continued effort to protect not only yourselves but also your neighbors. I must reiterate that there are no guests allowed in the common area amenities. Meaning that the only people allowed to use the pool and tennis courts are residents of the association. Bringing guests to the property increases the risk of infection in the community. Please do not bring guests to the pool, this is a violation of the emergency pool rules passed by the Board of Directors. Not only does this violate the rules of the association, but it can also get the association pool shut down, the City of San Diego has already come to check on the Coral Tree Plaza pool at least once in-person to ensure that the pool is being safely operated with COVID protection standards. So please, be courteous to your neighbors and do not bring guests to the pool or tennis courts.
Trash Room Epoxy Update:
On Thursday this week, Antonio and Justin were able to finish the trash room epoxy in the West building. Unfortunately, they were not able to finish the epoxy in the East building because of the time it took to prep the rooms. The trash room in the East Building will be completed next week on Tuesday, September 15th. We will post notices in the building and also send an email out to the community. Both trash chutes are usable and available to the community once again. Please throw your trash down the chute, the dumpster has been moved back inside the trash room.
Chiller Lines:
August was a month that brought some record heat to California and specifically San Diego. The intense heatwave meant a lot of chiller usage. For those who are unfamiliar with the chiller system at the association, it is an air conditioning system that operates by chilling down water and sending it up through the building in pipes. That chilled water goes to each unit, your air conditioning machines draws from this chilled water line and then produces cool air for you in your home. When the chiller line is being used in high volume, and the air outside is exceptionally warm, the pipes can “sweat” the same way that a glass of ice water does when sitting out in the sun. This excess sweating of the pipes happens especially when chiller lines are not wrapped. All of this is to say, that at some point this weekend, take a look at your air conditioning closet and see if your chiller lines are wrapped. It should be tight so that you cannot see any of the copper pipes but instead see some type of foam insulation. If your pipes are not properly insulated, please consider having a professional inspect them.
Pool Fiberglass:
Some of you may have noticed a discoloration around the edge of the pool. At first glance, our pool service technician thought this was algae. He treated the pool for algae but the discoloration remained. It turns out that the lining of the pool has aged out and now needs to be replaced. As I work with the Board to replace the pool lining the pool will remain open.

Stay safe.
