Coral Tree Plaza Weekly Update
Happy Friday Coral Tree Plaza
Hello Coral Tree Plaza Residents!
Neighborhood Reminder: Shower before entering the pool
It is estimated that more than 40% of people don’t shower before going swimming. Showering before entering the pool cleans your body of sweat, lotions, sunscreen, bacteria, and organic matter. When entering the pool without showering ahead of time, you are bringing these materials into the pool. Chlorine is a highly effective disinfectant, but it does not work instantly. It can take multiple days for chlorine to break down bacteria brought into the pool by residents who do not shower before entering. Coral Tree Plaza keeps the pool heated year-round, which requires more chlorine to keep the pool safe from harmful parasites and bacteria. Showering before entering the pool not only keeps you and your neighbors safe, but it also saves the association money by not having to purchase extra chemicals year-round. So as a friendly reminder, please consider showering in your unit before coming to swim, or using the shower down at the pool located next to the spa.
Window Washing – On Hold:
Many residents have come forward in support of having the windows washed by Javier and his crew. In the past, the association has had this completed twice per year. The crew typically will enter each unit and clean the windows from the inside of each unit. Unfortunately, there is no way to guarantee that there will not be a spread of COVID from unit to unit as the crew washes every window. For this very reason, the COVID response committee and I agree that the window washing must be put on hold for the time being. Please note that as soon as it is safe to have the windows washed, we will move forward with the plans. In the meantime, it is too high of a risk for CTP residents who are in the high-risk category.
West Building Call Box:
This week we discovered that the West building call box was continually reporting a “Line Busy” signal every time that someone tried to use it. CRB Security came out on-site to work on the box and has discovered that the motherboard (the brains) of the callbox has a manufacturer defect. This component has been removed by CRB and sent to the manufacturer for repair. As a reminder, the regular delivery crew from FedEx, UPS, USPS, and Sparkletts all have assigned fobs. But if you are expecting a delivery from Amazon or a visitor to the association, please have them call you directly to gain access to the building.
Masks in the Elevator:
As a reminder, when you are in the elevator, please keep your mask on. The elevator does not have ventilation and is a small enclosed space. Keeping your mask on in the elevator will limit the number of droplets left on the panels and elevator buttons. Masks should be kept on whenever you are not in your unit.
Trash Chute Repair:
Starting on Monday and Tuesday next week JJ&S Construction will be working inside the trash rooms on the first floor of both buildings to repair water damaged drywall. Following the demolition of the damaged drywall, Pro-Tec Construction is going to come out to replace the damaged wall with a water-resistant fire grade drywall. During the time that the crew is working, they will be down in the trash room right next to the dumpster. To ensure the safety of the crew, we ask that you do not throw your trash down the chute between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. We will post reminders on each floor at the trash chute and tape off access to the trash chute door. But please plan accordingly.
“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”
-F. Scott Fitzgerald
Stay safe.
